Operation Union Jack (MOVED TO MAPLE VALLEY) UPDATE READ
In the late 1990's members of the IRA broke off from the main group and formed a new organization calling themselves the Irish Liberation Front ( ILF ). At first this was just a loose band of militant fundamentalist that posed little threat to anyone outside their local community. In recent years they have grown very quickly and have become more organized. They have repeatedly expressed their dislike of the European Union and have taken a stand against the EU to keep Ireland an independent country. The ILF has been striking the EU through bombings of populated areas and several attempts on the lives of EU leaders. Reports have been filtering in of a major assault on the northern end of London that could include a biological weapon of some sort. It is believed by EU officials and NATO command that the ILF has the manpower and capabilities to mount such an attack and cause significant damage to infrastructure and the population. Most of the EU countries are committed to current operations in the Middle East and do not have the manpower or resources to confront this threat. The ILF knows this and it is believed they will use this to their advantage. The EU is forming a task force made up of troops from each country that will be lead by U.S. based military contracting companies. With the combined force of the EU coalition and U.S. contractors the threat should be neutralized. The coalition has begun mobilizing and moving forces into the forested region 100 miles north of London. Coalition forces are setting up a defensive line to stop any ILF advance on London. If the ILF follows through with their threat they will be stopped along this line and the outcome will be decided there. Anticipation grows as the world watches and waits.

Re: Operation Union Jack (MOVED TO MAPLE VALLEY) UPDATE READ
Sign me up for the Mics! Those limies have had it coming for far to long! Can we (ILF) get away with Adidas warm up jacket, football scarf, sta-press, and some steel-cap Docs? Or at least Guiness shirts!(Kinda think it'd be appropriate! Oi! Oi! Oi!)(If you have to ask, just don't) Oh, and I think the EU should have to wear clown outfits for the whole realism thing (JK)!
Re: Operation Union Jack (MOVED TO MAPLE VALLEY) UPDATE READ
Sign me up for the ILF. will BDU's (woodland)(mostly green) be ok?
Re: Operation Union Jack (MOVED TO MAPLE VALLEY) UPDATE READ
I had someone ask me this, and it got me thinking, and others are probably running a low risk of being confused by this... but could you please define what the uniforms actually are? from my understanding:
=Euro-Union (good guys) are going to be wearing desert camo, with tan in it. stuff like Multi-cam (it's more tan than green), desert tri-color, chocolate chip, and other stuff like that that has actuall PATTERNS in it (like the word suggests).
=Irish Liberation Front will be wearing the camo that likely works better in western-washington (woodland camo, green mar-pat, ect...) with PATTERNS (like the word suggests once again).
=American Contractors (wondering what company it'll be) will be wearing SOLID uniforms, right? it also says ACU. So the Americans have a choice between ACU and any solid color? this is so that when I explain it (or if others are confused) we can have something to go off of. Personally... I don't think anyone wants to see guys who are supposed to be EU or US/MERC wearing faded woodland BDU or something because they weren't clear on what a "solid pattern" is. that, and having an explination to recite makes my job easier here at the shop.

Re: Operation Union Jack (MOVED TO MAPLE VALLEY) UPDATE READ
sounds good. I've got myself a black uniform (works for night games, obvious reasons), and I think that hopefully I'll be able to get that hutu installed soon. That, and .20g glow BB's. and that'll be supplied on site.
===
hey, I'm noticing something that isn't so good. between both factions of good guys, there's 12 people. between one faction of people who are pretty much bad, (in both the compliment definition and the "wrong" justice alignment), there are 20 people.
am I a bad recruiter or is there just not enough people yet. good thing we got a few weeks.

Man, you're not very Irish are you? Mabey I just have a different out look on what's right and wrong. (unless you like the idea of a world government)
Re: Operation Union Jack (MOVED TO MAPLE VALLEY) UPDATE READ
and it just so happens the AJ's are all on that side. with a couple of wives or so (who I hear they play very well). it's not that they're irish, it's that they're the "bad guy" for the sake of THIS conflict. Now, if the french were bold enough to attack populated areas and prep an assault (let alone with a weapon worth our attention), We'd happily call them "bad guy."Sexy Chimp wrote:The ILF has been striking the EU through bombings of populated areas and several attempts on the lives of EU leaders. HOWEVER... I do not overlook the fact that irish people have caught alot of shit through history. aside from jews and deployed americans in combat, irish people are one of the most oppressed groups of white people. and Americans in combat have a weapon to fight back with! I'm on the side of the oppressed until the oppressed changes their role a little too hard (a kid getting bullied who picks up a gun is different from a wife who gets hit too many times and picks up a frying pan). I think that that the irish guy who fights in the street and kicks somebody's ass for calling him whatever it is you call irish people (that actually means something bad) is different from the organization who tries to blow up another country (think of the middle east).
That, and I'm going to throw some patriotism out there and say I love America, and I'm glad to play one.
it's airsoft, I don't care who, why or what authorisation I have to fire an airsoft gun at someone... if it's combat, I'm happy!

+1 That's the spirit!
But just to keep the political candor up for this game:

Oh and just in case you want to know how the real deal dress: INLA (Irish National Liberation Army) in Bogside, Derry 2005

Re: Operation Union Jack (MOVED TO MAPLE VALLEY) UPDATE READ
holy hell... that's a pretty exact standard. at least the real thing isn't some guerilla organization that murders the wrong people. Maybe I need to look it up, or someone can tell me some horror stories. I've had it told to me in one or two sentences, and I hear lots of jokes... but I think it was shaped for humor. maybe if someone tries to tell me the scary version of it, it'll mean a little more to me.

carelessly? *reaches for a gun and loads it* oh, I 'carelessly' told DJ on the phone that I'm pretty damn sure Colin wants to go to this event, and he'll want to be on my side.spartan036 wrote:well kramer carelessley signed me up for the americans when he knows that i only have woodland and an old olive drabe uniform from ww2 i think or veitnam
it's "SOLID" colors for our side. so OD's is ok. or if you want I'll go halves on getting you an OD jumpsuit from someplace that does it cheap. or, I can let you wear my blue jumpsuit that would look a little silly. OD is just fine, in fact it's preferred out there! and you don't have a desert uniform.
but yeah... I'm 100% going to this event, for the WHOLE THING. I'm not at Lowes any longer.

The Forum has it listed as:
When: MAY 8-9th
Checkin begins at 1700. First Game begins at 2130.
When is the event over?
I would not be a pest about this, but I have a family event on the 9th and 10th. Wondering if I can pull off both this and the family thing...

You arent being a best. The game should be over around. 1630, followed by a raffle. Even if you play night, and then morning game. You could be out of there by 1300.

well, we're a week and a half out... so far I'm really liking the roster right now. this is going to be the coolest! I've already got my M4 being worked on having a hutu built in.
DJ... I don't know if it's common sense or something everyone already knows, but has anyone made it clear that tracer units are mandatory for the event? just wondering.

Re: Operation Union Jack (MOVED TO MAPLE VALLEY) UPDATE READ
that sentence made no sense what so ever! I was only asking if people were notifying newer players about the thing for the night game. if I wasn't told, I would never have known. I also wouldn't have known that there was a way to have a tracer unit without having to mess with my front end. and what's with this "krame" thing all of a sudden? is one more letter so bad? I'm trying to work on my racial slurs, honestly. jap, cracker, and most of "honky" is gradually fading away. but "big krame..." come on. eh, I'll get over it so long as you guys don't refer to me as "the guy with glasses" because that's ALOT OF PEOPLE.Sexy Chimp wrote:Big Krame are they manditory?
but yeah...
hey, just thought of something. are we getting maps? or is there something online that I can read and print? not just how to get there but of the field itself. I'd like that alot.
